The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center (@FreedomCenter) launches a New Modbile App Tour. Visitors can share moments and pictures from their mobile app tour experience via Twitter and Instagram, @FreedomCenter.
A week- long celebration honoring two couragous freedom heroes, Lech Walesa and Nelson Mandela and highlighting 10 years of courage, cooperation and perseverance.

Join us for a discussion with artist Larry Winston Collins about his thought- provoking series, All for the Cause. Collins will discuss the importance of expressing social and cultural statements through the medium of art and other projects, including the Homeless Position Sculptures and the Long Street Cultural Wall Project. The new special exhibition featuring mixed-media portraits, showcasing thirty-five Civil Rights activists previously featured in the publication Free at Last: A History of the Civil Rights Movement and Those Who Died in the Struggle. See and experience the revealing portraits that reconnect us with the everyday freedom heroes who gave their lives in the struggle for justice, equality and civil rights.
Two weeks ago, the world had a great light extinguished when Dr. Maya Angelou passed away. I have been thinking about her legacy a bit since her passing, and have been primarily grateful that she left us with such a written record of her triumphs and her struggles and her fights for freedom and equality.
