Join the Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education, the Cincinnati Museum Center and the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center for an educator open house for, Unlocking the Gates of Auschwitz 70 Year Later, a temporary exhibit curated by the Center for Holocaust and Humanity Education and featuring the Steven F. Cassidy Collection. Unlocking the Gates follows the stories of two local Holocaust survivors, Werner Coppel and Bella Ouziel. Through their experiences, visitors to Unlocking the Gates will journey with Werner and Bella through their time in Auschwitz from arrival and selection, forced labor and finally liberation and building new lives here in Cincinnati.
Educators who attend the open house will have the opportunity to hear about the creation of the exhibit from CHHE Director of Educational Outreach, Alexis Storch and be taken on a guided tour of the exhibit. Light refreshments provided.
