Learn the art of using quilts to teach about history. University of Cincinnati professor and textile artist Cynthia Lockhart will share best quilting practices and storytelling techniques to maximize the benefits of using quilts and various family heirlooms to reveal stories about personal and academic history. Featuring the 85 story quilts from the new exhibition, And Still We Rise: Race, Culture and Visual Conversations, which narrates 400 years of history of the African American experience, from Frederick Douglass to Mae Jemison to President Obama.
