Greetings Carl Westmoreland, the GTW Induction at Coney island History Project Hall of Fame was a total success, on Thursday August 28,2008. Metropolitan Transportation Authority President, Howard H. Roberts came out once again to participate in the commemoration. David Byer Tyre curator of the African American Museum also came out to present the GTW Bust he created. Woody Guthrie and Howard Ward were two of the other inductees. The program was held outside, right beneath the Cyclone at Astroland, the weather was beautiful and well attended.
I am presently working diligently on revising my illustrative book " Granville T. Woods Communication and Transportation Pioneer ". It is comprises of 6 years of research which enable GTW to finally be properly acknowledge and recognize for his significant contribution to the NYC Subway System. GTW was born in Columbus and began his inventive career in Cincinnati, Ohio. As an historian who possess the knowledge and respect of the citizens throughout the Buckeye State, you should write the " Foreword ". I would deeply appreciate and be honored by your insightful perspective.
I would love to present the GTW Project at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. Please connect me to Angela Corley, Director of Community Affairs, I was very impressed by her comments on the July 29 Freedom Radio.
Sincerely,
David L. Head
