“Impacting the Future” an Official Selection of Lights. Camera. Help.

Posted on July 22nd, 2009 by Jamie Glavic

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center’s film, “Impacting the Future,” has been chosen as one of the 19 official selections for the premiere film festival for non-profit and cause-driven organizations, Lights. Camera. Help. As an official selection of the film festival the NURFC is also in the running for the “Jury Prize” which includes a cash gift from money made off donations and tickets sales for the festival as of  August 2nd.

This festival, based in Austin, Texas, is the first of its kind in the nation. The 130+ films and videos submitted were subject to rigorous criteria by a panel of judges. The 19 official selections, including videos from the NURFC, the Lance Armstrong Foundation, the Los Angeles Urban League, and more, will gain recognition by being considered the best in one of several distinct categories.  These organizations, along with filmmakers, will use the festival to spread the word about their cause, develop a community of followers, and expand the film-for-a-cause genre.

The film festival will take place from Friday, July 31st – Sunday, August 2nd.  If you are in the Austin area and wish to attend the festival you can purchase passes here.

Lights. Camera. Help. is an annual film festival dedicated to telling the story of non-profit and cause-driven organizations through the use of film and video founded by David J. Neff, Aaron Bramley, and Rich Vazquez.  To learn more about Lights. Camera. Help. click here.
