WWI Draft Registration Records
An important resource that is easily overlooked is the record of the men who had to register in 1917 and 1918 even if they would not go on to serve in the war. If a man was in this country, he was expected to register. This has given genealogists another source to check for men born in the late 1800′s. You can find these records on ancestry.com which can be found at most major public libraries.
Just recently this source enabled me to help a woman find a grandfather about whom she knew nothing but his name. Using the draft records I was able to give her height, weight, hair and eye color and place of birth. We also determined that he was born in Jamaica. Best of all we were able to place him in a time and location and make him real.

Hello,
My name is Marcus Voltori and I am a descendant of the Aaron, Francoise and Vallerie family. In my research on my family lineage I discovered my ancestry has French Creole and Indian roots.
My family’s line is very complex and I would like a seriously good researcher who is familiar with Pointe Coupee, Louisiana history to help me with my genealogical & historical research of these family members. I have tried to get copies of these records, but have not been able to locate or confirm that this information is accurate on the Aaron (which I think may have Jewish roots), Francoise and Vallerie (Indian tribe unknown) family line. I have contacted different local agencies in Louisiana and had some good help from a few people, but there are no church records to support the information I have been given.
Please contact me via email or by phone with any data that you are willing to share to that may help me learn more about doing research on the Aaron, Francoise and Vallerie families from Pointe Coupee, Louisiana . My email account is tyingtheknot@gmx.com.
Thank you and I look forward to hear from you.
