My grandmother’s name was Raymo from Brasher Falls, her first name was Anna, born in the 1880′s. I believe her father’s name was John.

I believe from your description that your grandfather Allen Gilson was my great grandmothers husband. They lived in London England and had 3 children together. The children were looked after by my great grandmothers sister after she died from TB and Allen had gone to America as a Butler for a russian lady?. His daughters husband was in the navy during WW2 and he apparently had an address for Allen which he visited while he was in New York but was told that Allen had already passed away. I hope that you get this message and that we can talk about this some more, it’s so exciting.

Did you have any luck in finding more about Palmer Barwick? He was a witness at the marriage of my great-great-great grandmother to her 2nd partner – Mattishall Burgh, 1820. His father, also Palmer, was a church warden. He witnessed a few marriages. Palmer Jr married Elizabeth Holman in 1820 at Gressenhall.
