Faith to Freedom Daily: Union Baptist Church Cincinnati, Ohio

Posted on June 7th, 2010 by Chris McMahon

The Union Baptist church was founded in 1831. The original documents of the church tell the stories of runaway slaves coming to Cincinnati because family and friends within the church provided refuge.

The original building no longer exists, but the congregation is still holding services at 405 W. Seventh St. in downtown Cincinnati.

The Church records are now housed in the collection of the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.
