The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will host members of the famed Tuskegee Airmen. Carole Quackenbush of the Cincinnati Chapter Tuskegee Airmen will introduce the Airmen and share their respective stories with Freedom Center guests. This special visit from these American heroes is in conjunction with a showing of “Double Victory: Two Warriors in the Fight for Civil Rights During WWII.”

A documentary companion to the film “Red Tails,” “Double Victory” celebrates the heroic actions of the Tuskegee Airmen. George Lucas and actors Cuba Gooding Jr. and Terrence Howard pay homage to the Tuskegee Airmen, one of our country’s most iconic troops of WWII African American Fighters. The film combines photographs, newspaper articles, National Archive footage, interviews, audio clips and maps in the recounting of this heroic story. This documentary showcases the Airmen’s military triumphs as well as their overcoming of the adversities of Jim Crow and segregation within the United States military. Narrated by Gooding, “Double Victory” goes inside the lives of many of the living Airmen, revealing the stories of their heroism and their struggles against racism.

Following the showing of “Double Victory,” guests will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer session with the visiting Tuskegee Airmen, as well as a light reception and a book signing by several members of the Airmen.
