Women Hold Up Half the Sky

October 27 – March 31, 2013

Inspired by the best-selling book Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalists Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, the exhibition tells stories of women from around the globe who have changed their lives through education, economics, and self-determination.

Women Hold Up Half the Sky is a one-of-a-kind exhibition, serving as a wake-up call to the injustices perpetrated against women worldwide and the ways to effect change. Visitors will experience compelling stories, documentary photographs and visual and audio installations, illuminating how women are leading the way in redressing chronic injustice and abuse. Interactive gallery experiences include direct opportunities for advocacy and involvement by visitors to the exhibition. Women Hold Up Half the Sky celebrates how individuals can be part of workable
solutions and respond to this uplifting call to action.
